About Our Troop
Troop 86 has been helping the community since 1914 and helping kids grow. It's a great place for younger and older kids to learn great life skills and meet some amazing people. We have such a supportive and dedicated community of people who want to see each other thrive and grow. Our troop has done things such as hike the Appalachian trail and help many kids reach Eagle Scout.
In the summer, we attend NoBeBoSco Scout Camp. At NoBe, scouts have the freedom to do things like archery, shotgun shooting, learning how to be a lifeguard, and so much more. We also offer high adventure trips to canoe in the Adirondacks, scuba dive in the Florida Keys, and backpack in New Mexico. These trips allow scouts to gain more experience about the world around them and teach them the importance of teamwork and communication.
Our troop was started in 1914 and since then we have done many things for the local community. Over the years, Troop 86 has hiked the entirety of the Appalachian Trail. When this was finished, in the 90s, it made us the first troop to complete it.
